Vivid Lacquer stamping plates VL 006, VL 024 and VL 033 – review and swatches

When the sweet Katarina from Edgy Polish asked me if I would like to try some Vivid Lacquer plates, I instantly said YES, because I already had been eyeballing some of them in her shop ;)

The plate size is 7 x 8 cm, and the patterns are 2 x 2 cm, some bigger and some smaller as you can see in the photos below.
They are pleasant to touch, and this is what the back looks like, cute, isn't it:

The stamper I used is my test winner (see test HERE) UberChic XL clear stamper - also available from Edgy Polish.

Let's begin with Vivid Lacquer plate VL 006 - click on the photos to enlarge them...
For the test of plate VL 006 my base is Morgan Taylor Mint Chocolate Chip. I stamped with Hit The Bottle I Blue It All On Polish. I was clumsy with my ring finger, I'm sorry about that...

Vivid Lacquer plate VL 024
For the test of plate VL 024 my base is Golden Rose Rich Color 38, the stamping polish is El Corazon Foil Effect f-05.

Vivid Lacquer plate VL 033:
For the test of plate VL 033 my base is Morgan Taylor Berry Perfection. I stamped with El Corazon st-02 white, and I added a dot of yellow as the center of one of the flowers.

I also have plate VL 009, so I thought I would show it to you.
But it is sold out in Katarina's shop at the moment; I will on a later occasion show you stamping nail art using that plate...

My conclusion:
Etching: They are just a little on the shallow side - but still easy to use if you have just a little experience.
The only pattern that I have problems with is the tiny daisy on VL 033 (lower right corner), I could not get a decent pick up of it, I tried several times and also different stampers. But it's probably just because I'm still a stamping newbie ;)
Patterns: I like the patterns, and I love that some patterns and themes vary in image and size on certain plates, like for instance the dandelions and soap bubbles, so that there are patterns for all nail sizes...

Do you own any Vivid Lacquer stamping plates?

Bear Pawlish Roseanna Danna and Treat Yourself swatches

Bear Pawlish Roseanna Danna is gorgeous red glitter fest. It is a “Christmas” red jam packed with red holo glitters – awesome. I was pleasantly surprised to see that two coats are enough, so that is what you see + a coat of Seche Vite.

Treat Yourself
ARGHHHH I hate it when the flash turns flakies or glitter black – in this case the red holo glitters looks black, sorry about that – they ARE red and it’s a beautiful polish!!
Bear Pawlish Treat Yourself is a pink magenta holo with holo micro glitters in red/pink – it’s really girly and sweet! Again I was pleasantly surprised to see that two coats are enough, so that is what you see + a coat of Seche Vite.
Please disregard the black spots in Treat Yourself - they ARE red holo micro glitters...

Masura Cat's Eye 904-109 swatches

Masura Cat’s Eye 904-109 is from the Precious Stones magnetic collection. It is a gorgeous green and after having held the super strong Masura magnet over it in 1-2 seconds it comes alive and flashes like liquid metal – so fascinating. For these photos I regret I didn’t use the black or with Masura base polish for it, because it clings hard to the nail and shows all the imperfections. But in person I actually didn’t really notice it, at least not this bad. You see it in two coats with a coat of Seche Vite.
I'm fascinated by the strong effect created by the new strong magnets...

Darling Diva Ringer swatches

Shown over eggplant purple: Darling Diva Ringer is from 2012, and it’s very like Max Factor Fantasy Fire, that I also haven’t shown yet. I am showing it in one coat over MAC Dark Angel + a coat of Seche Vite. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to capture the gorgeous shift in purple, olive green and more…
Do you like it - and do you have it and/or Fantasy Fire?

My stamping journey - part 19

It's time for more stamping manis, this time Take 82, 83, 84 and 85 - I hope you like some of them ;)

Take 82
Take 82: The base is Chanel Shantung 508 stamped with Barry M Foil Effect 320, plate Bundle Monster BM-S 107, stamper Daschica Jumbo Clear Jelly.
Note to myself: It’s quite pretty!

Take 83
Take 83: The base is Enchanted Polish February 2014 stamped with Hit The Bottle Copper Haired Girl, plate Pet’la Flake No More, stamper Daschica Jumbo Clear Jelly.
Note to myself: I liked it!

Take 84
Take 84: The base is Model City Polish Pour Me Another stamped with Barry M Foil Effect 320, plate MoYou London Pro XL 21, stamper Daschica Jumbo Clear Jelly.
Note to myself: It’s OK, even if I managed to break the pattern on my middle finger, I didn’t feel I pressed too hard, but I must have. At the moment I really feel like nothing I do in the stamping department is good enough or even close to wow :(

Take 85
Take 85: The base is Cadillacquer Elli stamped with Esmaltes da Kelli Dixie, plate Cici & Sisi Spring 04 (acrylic plate), stamper nameless clear jumbo stamper.
Note to myself: I like it and am impressed by the quality of the Esmaltes da Kelli stamping polish.

My favorite is Take 85, the last one...
